Carlyle Question

What band did you have?

Do you know the bands they recommend and do they charge full plate for them or 1/2?

We used Paul Rich Music - they were absolutely fantastic - I think we received more compliments on the band than anything else. They're very diverse and have a low-key emcee style - also, an independent band, so you don't end up paying a lot of company overhead. At least when we received the house vendor sheet, the Carlyle's house band was Hank Lane. We found Hank Lane's sales tactics to be so annoying as to be off-putting. They called constantly, which meant we weren't going to call back! Paul Rich (*not* the same as the Paul Richards band from Hank Lane) plays at Carlyle a lot, as does Vali Music, which was a really close second choice for us.

Carlyle charges half price for vendor meals, including the band.

We used the Gerard Carelli orchestra- we had 12 pieces.

My parents are jazz musicians and there was NO WAY we were going to use a band recommended by the hall (they do this b/c they get kick backs)...

we fed all of the vendors and they charged us 1/2 for the meal
