Those that have had carpet installed, who do did you use? My one friend says not to use Home Depot. Anyone ever try Empire Direct?

my FSIL used empire for laminate floor and it came out great - was more $ than home depot though.....i know home depot installers arent the greatest (at least in SI)

We always go to a local carpet place (we have used a couple different ones) and they always have the best prices, they are the most willing to negotiate. My parents have used Home Depot and they were ok but there prices were a little high

I've heard the same thing about other HD places too. We would only need one room done and I want it done fast.

do not use empire direct they are extremley overpriced and are ready to rip you off, a customer of ours use to work for one, and told us all about them.
i would try a local carpet store

Defintiely got to a local carpet place, NOT empire direct, NOT home depot or Lowes.
We just ordred ours, it will be installed next week and the guy does work for FH's job and said Lowes & home depot are terrible quality and empire direct is a rip off.

There's a carpet place on Rockaway Ave. in Valley Stream, and another on Merrick. You should call them.

I hear they are nice in there, but I've never been. We bought an area rug at a place on Merrick Road in Lynbrook (closer to VS). They do carpet installation there too. We got a really good price from them.
