I found a carpet runner I love but my question is, whats the proper way to have it installed if I have a landing. For insance, do I run the carpet from end to end on the landing and then start the runner on the stairs so there's wood showing in between? Or do I somehow have them connect it? I am so confused and can't find any pictures. can anyone help??

I had the same question, and my aunt sent me a picture to help explain (she is a realtor and sees tons of houses). I can't post it because it is in the wrong format. Let me see if I can explain....
the landing has wood showing on the right and left sides of the runner -- it is cut to make the turn -- and then the new piece starts at the bottom of the next set of stair.
