What is the best place to get inexpensive carpeting where they will come and move furniture and lay the carpet??

WE ordered our carpeting from Empire Carpets....they come to the house with the samples!! It was wonderful. If we wanted to, they would have installed the carpet 2 days after we ordered (if it is in stock). We got very good carpet for our living room/dining room/hallway and even a more plush one for our bedroom and all of it was less than $2K installed. We have a big living room and dinning room and a decent size bedroom!

Try HomeDepot. Good quality carpeting at reasonable prices. The service is also great.
I have to disagree with the Home Depot recommendation. We paid an arm and a leg for our bedroom carpet from them, only to have it on back order for months (not their fault, although they originally told us it was in stock at the warehouse when we ordered it, but whatever), THEN they forgot to tell us when it was in (we finally called them, and they said 'it's been in for weeks.... what were you waiting for?') THEN they canceled delivery dates on us 3 times before it was actually installed. It was a real pain in the a$$ dealing with them (although the carpet is gorgeous).

We have had good experiences with G. Fried Carpet on Old Country Road. They have a lot of remnants for small rooms and a huge selection of carpets at reasonable prices.
They also did an excellent installation job.

If you go to a carpet store, you can save a lot by purchasing remnants. We got a great deal at ....uh , oh I forgot the name. It is located in Coram

Try Montauk Carpet in Farmingdale...they have a great selection...I am not sure about moving furniture...we movedour own...but you may be able to pay them
