Carribean or Puerto Rican Traditions

I Love this chat room! Does anyone have an ethnic theme. That they are going to follow for their weddings?

I'm Cuban, FH isn't but we're doing a Cigar roller and Latin band for our CH since
it will run about an hour and a half. Plus we're researching Latin love songs for our first dance.

Queens. My FH is Italian but sometimes I have to question it. His Dad too. They both live for rice, beans and pork.

Well u said you needed a band. My FH and I go to City Crab a lot in the city. They have a Spanish guitar player named Nicholas Marks he plays wonderfully. He plays behind his back. etc. But not corny.

We might use him for the dinner music.
I have his CD.

a great puerto rican tradition is when the priest blesses 13 gold coins and the groom gives them to the bride..each coin signifies something but i forget what..also you can get a barbie doll and dress her up in a copy of your dress and put ribbons with both you and your grooms name's and the date of the wedding and people can come up and take one from the bride

i'm just editing to add a great website where i got these from
