Carseat position on the plane..?

Carseat position on the plane..?

hi gals-
Up until now, Julianne has been in a rear facing car seat.
She is at the point where we can change the seat to forward facing ( just havent done it yet)

for those of you who have traveled...
we are flying out to fla on sat morning EARLY.

Can we place her in the carseat facing forward for the plane ride? This would allow us to use our portable dvd player and she can be entertained for the flight down... or

due to her familiarity with being rear facing, is it ibetter to have it that way on the plane? This way it is one less thing that will be unfamiliar to her?

I honestly think that puttingher in forward facing will be best. That it will not cause her any more stress...that she MAY be so curious about just being on a plane PERIOD that having the seat one way or another wont matter...

plus we will have the benefit of her watching HER dvds...dora and einstein..that that would be great....

but I wanted to see what your experiences have been

let me know

I would call the airlines and ask if they have a preference.

I don't see any problem with facing her forward.

Unless you have bought a seat for her. She will be on your lap.

We never brought Patricks car seat on the plane. It went w/ the luggage.

we have a seat reservation for Julianne.
I personally don't trust just having her in my lap
