carved soaps favor idea... your thoughts?

Okay, I'm getting more information on this, but someone on one of my horse-related message boards said she knows a sculptor who carves speciality soaps, and she can carve them into different horse designs. (Before you think I'm crazy, we have horses, so this isn't out of left field) She can do it in soap that matches my wedding colors or in ivory colored soap and package it in my wedding colors.

Do you think this would be a neat idea for a favor or possibly add-on to my BM gifts? (The BMs are already getting real pearls, so I don't need to add anything on...)

I'm waiting to see what the price is, but I hear it's very inexpensive.

I'm trying to think of something unique to use as a favor in addition to our donation. We currently own two horses and they are my passion (and FH absolutely adores them, too). Since we are doing a donation favor (one of which will be a horse rescue or therapeutic riding center), I thought it would be a neat little favor theme.

The other donation will be to a cancer-related charity (possibly Susan Komen)... I was even thinking of doing pink and ivory soaps packaged in my wedding colors (navy/ivory) to complete the theme (as pink is my accent color, too). but may just go with ivory so anyone can put them out in their bathroom...

Any thoughts? I'm still waiting on pricing and to see what they look like... and it's only one of several ideas I've been tossing around... so honest opinions, please!

I'm not crazy about the horse thing, but since you guys have horses that would make a nice personal touch.

Well, I wasn't crazy about the price... They were between $7-8 per bar.

That's a little expensive for my taste. Maybe they'll work their way into the OOT gift bags, though... They were really nice!

Now I've got like 3-4 other ideas...

coffee mugs w/ personalized packets of coffee
homemade horse chocolates

all with the LIVESTRONG bands to go withour cancer-related donation, which will likely got to Lance Armstrong's foundation.

I think that's a great idea!!!!!!!!! I'm horse-crazy tho so I might be a little bias, but I really think anyone could put them in their bathrooms as a decorative piece.

have you looked on ebay for this? i saw they make minis on there and prices werent bad at all! Not sure if they do anything horse related..but im sure its out there! Worth a look
