Caryle or Royalton?

Caryle or Royalton?

Hi Girls -

My fiance and I just started looking at venues last Sunday. To make a long story short, we saw the Caryle in the morning and I really liked it but then when we saw the Royalton in the afternoon, I loved that even more. I loved how new everything looked and I found it more initimate than the Caryle AND I fell in love with the garden. Plus the Royalton is a lot more reasonable than the Caryle (both per person and for extras like ceremony fees). If we were to do the Caryle, we would have to do a Saturday in April as we can't afford the 'peak season' summer prices there.

So I think my gut is saying the Royalton but there is a part of me that's wondering if a Caryle wedding is more impressive and grand. I think I'm getting this feeling mostly from my mom. She liked the Royalton a lot but keeps reminding me that the Caryle has a certain cache to it. Ugh and some of my fiance's friends from out of town got so excited when they heard the Caryle is on the Bethpage golf course....home of the 2009 US Open.

Any thoughts? I think my mind is already made up but I could use a little reinforcement

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny you should mention the golf, I have requests to get tee times for my guests (ok, make that the groomsmen) already . . . . Bethpage Black is one of the hardest courses out there, and the golf fans are excited to play, and then see how the pros do a few weeks later, hahahahaha.

You'll make the right choice! I have experience with both, and you can't go wrong with either. Carlyle might have more name appeal, but the Royalton has it over in feeling like a real private mansion. The Royalton is more custom, Carlyle more flash. Most have all Royalton really knows how to run a party! It all comes down to size in my opinion, over 240 people go with Carlyle, under Royalton hands down.

Re: Caryle or Royalton?

my friend just got married at caryle in nov. and the ceremony was BEAUTIFUL- all candles and just so romantic!!!
the only thing i didnt like was that the huge wood bar was outside the reception room so EVERYONE was hanging out at the bar instead of dancing..... have the small moveable bars in the reception room if you choose to book there-

You could tell your mom you prefer the Royalton b/c since the US Open will be there next year, the place will be a zoo! (and the truth is, if you get married in June, it will be!)

I looked at both but I'm biased I have to say the Royalton gives a mansion appearance with new school class. The menu is custom, the service is personable.

The only thing I cared for at the Carlyle was the gorgeous ball room but I hated the lobby and cocktail area (2 separate rooms and a hallway) I know they were working on it when I went there in March.

I love that the Royalton lets you customize your wedding: food, locations (indoor, garden or patio ceremony) they're even the couches out for me in the library.
