Casablanca dress? RK Bridal? Mini-review and questions.

Hello ladies! I finally have been doing some serious dress shopping.
I went to Roma Bridals in NJ last weekend, and then Macy's at the Willowbrook mall. Romas which was supposed to be discounted had a Demetrios dress for $700 more than it was at Macy's -- I couldn't believe it.

Anyway, today I went to RK Bridal, and found a Casablanca dress that I really love, and think it might be the one!!
I've never really heard of Casablanca before -- anyone know anything about the brand -- is it known to be good quality?
Also, anyone have any experience at RK bridal?
I had a lovely time trying on dresses, my attendant Nicole was wonderful. I'd just love to hear feedback on dress arrival time and their alterations department.
Thanks in advance!

My cousin in law wore a casablanca dress and it was pretty! I'm not sure how popular it is but its a known wedding gown brand. As for RK bridal, they charge a high fee for alterations but everything is done in the store and they schedule 3 fittings for you. 2 of my cousins bought their dress there and alterations were great... which is why i bought mine at RK too. HTH

RK actually told me that they capped the alterations at $350 -- which sounded pretty good to me!
When things sound too good I tend to get a little paranoid.
Thanks for your imput -- I'm really excited -- I'm going to shop around a little more, but I think it might be it!

My dress is a Cassablanca and I love it... The most comfortable and lightweight dress that I tried on too. The fabric is beautiful. Which one are you looking at?

I'm still doing a little more shopping, but I think that's the one!
I'm an idiot! I told them my real wedding date. Do you think it will look shady if I tell them I changed the date?

Re: Casablanca dress? RK Bridal? Mini-review and questions.

I know alot of people on here and at my job rave about RK bridal. I think there's a way you can get the dress cheaper through them too and bring it somewhere else for alt. but you'd really have to research the posts on here for that. As far as casablanca I saw a few when I was trying on mine and I thought they were just as well made as my maggie but Im not a dressmaker I've also heard of that brand for a long time. So I dont think you have any worries. Post a pic when you can.

Re: Casablanca dress? RK Bridal? Mini-review and questions.

I don't have a pic of me in it -- I forgot my camera, and my stupid camera phone didn't really work well, but on their website its style 1885. I need to go back and try again.
I'm so glad to hear such positive reviews about Casablanca-- I never heard of it because I never heard of most brands -- I'm sooo new to this, just started dress shopping last week. Also, I'm a moron when it comes to knowing if something is good quality or not -- I can't tell the difference - I just know if I think something is pretty, and the price was really good, so I just wanted to make sure. Hope that made sense, I'm at work and not really supposed to be on this, so I'm rushing.

I JUST bought my Casablanca dress at RK. I loved it there! The people were so helpful and unpretnetious. They told me Casablanca is one of their more reliable and beautirful brands which was great. Casablanca is also custom making me a bolero jacket made of the same lace thats on my dress and given all the positive things I've heard, I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Re: Casablanca dress? RK Bridal? Mini-review and questions.

I am wearing a Casablanca dress and love it! I bought it at RK as well. I know 2 other girls getting married soon who also bought Casablanca dresses from RK.
My wedding is in a month...ordered the dress in February, and it came in in July. There was a minor flaw with it. They shipped it back and I picked up the new dress in September. RK was great.
