Case of cold feet?

Case of cold feet?

Hey ladies,
I haven't been on in a while to really chat...busy with work!!! Recently I've been very depressed about work but more importantly my wedding. It seems like as the days progress, or get closer, I feel more and more afraid! I've been living w/ FH for 3 years and I'm soooo in love with him! I know he's the right guy for me and I know we'll make each other happy. I'm just scared! I don't know of what?! I feel like such a guy right now! Is that normal? Anyone else feel this way?

I felt the same way.

We have 2 kids, we own a home together - but suddenly - as the wedding drew closer all I could think of was how many people get DIVORCED. I would be on this website thinking that statistically at least half of us that get married this year won't still be married at 10 years. I got afraid that I would be a part of that half.

When the day came - I was too excited to remember to be nervous. And then - standing at the altar with this amazing man and pledging our love to each other and promising to support each other .. it was incredible and any remote fear I might have had in my cynical mind was completely and totally erradicated.

It's normal - your normal. You love each other and soon you will be married and you will forget WHY you were so anxious to begin with.

I got a bit of this feeling the other day, I was PMSing and feeling overwhelmed with household chores, responsibility, money, planning. But I pulled myself up by my boot straps, cleaned, paid my bills and went runninga nd now I feel better because I don't have so much looming. I'm not saying you're in the same boat, but I felt like 'Am I doing the right thing?' But it was just too much at that moment. I hope you feel better soon

Re: Case of cold feet?

sometimes the stress and fear comes not from the decision itself (is FH REALLY the one?), but rather the change of your title / status from single to married, and how you think of yourself (as independent, or part of a couple).

I'm not stressed about the wedding, but I get amazingly stressed each time I change jobs.... despite it being for the better. It goes away once a routine is restored.

Consider it the 'fear of the unknown'. Likely, you'll feel much better once the daily grind is restored, and things are quiet and calm....
