I went there on Saturday and was very disappointed. The women my FI and I met with gave us a 15 minute sales pitch, showed us one photo album and expected us to book. She was so irritating!! She kept asking us the same questions ( where are you getting married, what time is your recetion, etc.). It was like she wasn't even listening!! I don't know, maybe she was having a bad day, maybe she was tired. Regardless, my FI and I decided to keep on looking!!

Re: Cassarino Studios
Which location did you go to? Was this in Mineola?
If not, try that location, and meet with Raz, he's really wonderful.

Re: Cassarino Studios
I'll try making an appointment w/Raz. I really wanted to go w/Cassarino ( I loved Tammy's pictures) but my FI did not like the treatment we received. We have an appt w/Proline tomorrow. If things don't go well then we will give Cassarino another try...I'll be sure to ask for Raz. I think the woman we saw actually works for the Smithtown location but was covering for someone else.

Re: Cassarino Studios
I'm sorry about that. When Fh and I went, we met with Raz and he was GREAT! He sat us in a room and gave us a whole bunch of albums to look through, then he gave us time alone to look through them and then he came into the room to answer our questions. We didn't feel like we were getting a sales pitch at all.

Re: Cassarino Studios
I met with Razz the first time I went there and liked him a lot. I actually have a question for those of you woho booked your photographer from there. Whcih photographer did you use? Is there any negotitating on anything? I just think that some of the prices were expensive, especially on the pages that have more than one pic. Thanks for your help.

Re: Cassarino Studios
I actually went to Mineola the first time and met with Silvana but eventually booked at the Whitestone office with Maria. They were both lovely and so were the other people I encountered in the office. No hard sell at all. I probably looked at almost every album they had and full sets of proofs too and no one gave me a hard time. I booked Ray as the primary person and Anthony as the photojournalist. They didn't really negotiate on the package price but they threw in extras to make it a better deal.

Re: Cassarino Studios
Just decided to give everyone an update. We met with Proline tonight and decided to book them. They gave us a price comparable to Cassarino Studios and were much more attentive.
It seems like we just caught the wrong person at Cassarino Studios. I think the woman we saw might have even worked for another location ( my FI said he remembered hearing her say something like that). I told my FI about the wonderful feedback I had received about Cassarino but he had his mind set and did not want to give it another try. But I really appreciate all of your feedback.
The pictures we saw at Proline were great!! I especially like their candid shots. They also threw in a few extras. All in all I think it worked out for the best. I'm just so happy that we have booked all of our major vendors
The next challenge...bridesmaids dresses for seven girls

Re: Cassarino Studios
Congrats...don't worry you weren't the only one who Cassarino was rude to. I called Cassarino and Sherwood Triat to make appointments and they were very nasty. I don't remember who I spoke to because it was a year ago but Proline was the most attentive. I like Prolines work and they are reasonable.

Re: Cassarino Studios
Raz is the album designer, he's great. Definitely has a personality, is very personable and down to Earth. We met with Silyva who does the booking and sales for our initial meeting. Cassarino Studios is recommended by our reception venue, Caffé on the Green in Bayside, Queens.
Prehaps, you were there at the wrong place, wrong time. For all the vendors that DH and I meet with we made appointments with specific individuals.

Re: Cassarino Studios
Actually I wonder if we had the same women - we were supposed to meet with Raz but instead they put us in this little glass room handed us an album and left us alone for 20 mins - we were going to leave when this women comes in and says ok I need your info fill out this form then we will talk. We filled it out she handed us a price sheet and told us we needed to book in the next week to get these prices or they would be going up (like 2nd photographer went from 750 to 950) then said any questions or will you be booking now. We asked to see more albums and she told us well the ones you would want to see are in the other room with this other couple so if you want to wait. So we told her we would let them know and we left.

Re: Cassarino Studios
Christine, we had a similar experience. I had made an appointment via email with joe himself, but when i got there, no one knew i was coming. my mom and i were rushed into a room, handed a book, spoken to for about 15 minutes, and then told that they were very busy and needed to move along. (not exactly in those words however). very disappointing. but all is well in the end b/c we booked north island photography and are sooo thrilled!
