Re: Castle in Huntington??

You might be thinking of Oheka or Coindre Hall. I checked out Coindre Hall (it is catered by Lessings, you can find info about it on their website). The price was reasonable, but ultimately, we felt like the space was a bit rough and that we would probably have to do more decorating than we wanted to take on ourselves or we would have to hire someone to do it. If you like to do that kind of stuff you could have a really unique wedding there.

Oheka is much more expensive. I think some of the girls on this site are having weddings there. I have heard really good things about it.

Re: Castle in Huntington??

hi! Oheka does cater. I think they do tons of weddings. Make an appointment and go talk to them - very nice, but not cheap! There's also a few girls on this site having their reception there.

Re: Castle in Huntington??

Lovin Oven is Okera's cater. It is not an inexpenisive venue. Not sure of your budget. There is a site fee plus per person fee. I am 90% positive it is over $200 per person. Yabobaby looked there. You can ask her.

Re: Castle in Huntington??

I don't hink Lovin Oven is the caterer...but I could be wrong....

I looked and basic prices were:
Site fee: $8000-10000 (this seemed to be negotiable)

minimum 150 (but the dining room is a bit small...I'm not sure you could do much bigger and still have sit down dinner...)

if you go with the minimum the prices were $200-250 pp (depending fri, sat or sun)

if you had more people it went down to $180 (i think)

also the $pp also seemed to be negotiable..

BUT this was over a year ago when I looked and they were still in the process of 'renovating' they now offer you spas and weekends...so the prices may have gone up...

the good thing about OHEKA is that you get it for the ENTIRE DAY!! I loved that part...so you can have a LOOONNNGGG party...nothing getting in your way...

the main reason that we didn't book there was 1. we fell in love with Land's End and 2. it was a bit cold feeling (like you would think a castle would be...stone, etc) you need TONS of flowers to decorate...

they also offer rooms for guests...

Re: Castle in Huntington??

They have a chef on premises at Oheka. All the catering is in-house. Since I booked anyway. In fact, they just got a new one that was at the NY Palace before. The site fee is high. The pp$ is somewhat negotiable. Try for a Friday or Sunday to keep cost down. But really - they are expensive. You get a lot - the mansion for the day, there are rooms (but they don't come free! just for bride and groom), the rooms are beautiful, there is a pool (but when would you use that really on your wedding day). They have a jazz hour with brandy and cordials after (extra price). But look I fell in love. Cut back by getting a dj instead of band, cut guest list, etc. The flowers are very expensive because there are a lot of rooms. But it's white glove/red carpet service the whole day and night! I think it will be worth it.
