Re: Cat and Hissing

Not my boys. One did ONCE when I had his brother at the vet all day and it was out of fear and because his brother lost his scent or had other animal scents on him. Ohter than that they are the sweetest things. My SISTER'S cats on the other hand, about 30 times a day at eachother, they have a love/hate relationship.

Re: Cat and Hissing

My cat, Maxwell<------- hisses occasionally if someone bothers him. It is really just a warning.

Mine only hiss when the dog gets too playful and they want to be left alone.

Xena never hissed until the last 2 years but the first 6 no way! She never ever hissed and now it is rare only when there are other animals around.

Re: Cat and Hissing

The kitty I had growing up .. I'd say once in the 11 1/2 years he was with us .. though he did growl at me once when I was trying to take back a pork chop bone he stole out of the kitchen garbage!! I never knew a cat could growl .. he sounded just like a dog!

The kitty DH and I have had now for 7 years .. he's not bashful about hissing .. but will only do it at times he feels threatened. This kitty can be much more aggressive than my 'growing up' kitty ever was .. but I still love him!
