The other night i was taking my dog out in the middle of hte night and i saw something run fast, i wasnt sure what it was but it was a kitten.
Turns out its 2 kittens, so i gave them some food i had in my fridge and some milk and water so the next day i searched for them but they were gone, so i bought canned kitten food at the store in hopes they would come back and sure enough at dusk last nite they were back Now its about 2 or 3 kittens, but i htink one is hte mom but she is still small.
Anyone have any advice on what i should do? I feel terrible for these little kittens

Re: CAT Lovers...i have a question
they have TNR (trap, neuter release) programs. Most shelters won't take cats because they're already overloaded but you can stop the cats from breeding and make sure it doesn't become a problem in your neighborhood. You can try calling a few shelters to see if they'll take them

yea I've heard that they're hard to catch, I've never done it before I just read about girls on the pets LIF boards discussing it. Maybe the ASPCA can help trap them? I don't know if they do that though

I believe if you find a program that provides the Trap Neuter and release... there is one up here north of Westchester called Humane Solutions, but I'm sure there must be a similar program in LI. They provide the traps and you just set it out w/ the food inside. They will go in for the food and the door shuts behind them.

Re: CAT Lovers...i have a question
the best thing is a catch release program, but in the meantime, don't feed them milk..cats actually have a hard time digesting it! (long time cat owner here) the vet told me its bad for them

Re: CAT Lovers...i have a question
we caught a couple cats in our yard. they are hard to catch because they are scared. we found a home for 2 and took in two and we still feed the mommy, she lives out doors and she knows we love her and feed her so she lets us pet her now. Try and find homes for them if you can. Cats are wonderful
