cat owners....

where do you keep your litter box?

FH and I live in a small 2 BR apt, although the bathroom is actually roomy. We keep it in there and clean it daily. Wash it with bleach once a week.

I can't wait to have a house so I can put it elsewhere....but is it gross to keep it in my bathroom? I dont want to put it inthe kitchen!

we are in an apartment too, and his littler box is in the bathroom because i cannot stand the fact of putting it in the kitchen! We clean it daily and wash it with belach every week too...but I cannot wait till we have a diffferent place with somewhere else to put it--he makes such a mess!

I dont' own one but my sister at first had it in the kitchen. Then she put it at the top of her stairs to her room. Then she put it (ugh ugh UGH) in the bedroom FH and I stay in when we sleep over my dads!!!! YUCK.

But heaven's forbid she put it in HER ROOM. After all they're HER cats. Or the bathroom, where, IMO, it belongs!

We also keep in it the bathroom but in the bath tub. Someone told me to put it there so to contain some of the litter that the cats will inevitably kick out. When we take a shower, we just take out the box and turn on the shower and the excess litter go down the drain. Then we shower. It does keep the floor clean and the litter box is out of the way.

Bathroom. We are lucky that part of our vanity has a slope under it as if it was wheelchair accessable and it goes under there

We have a home and keep Beemer's in one of the bathrooms. We clean it every morning and often during the day too. I also change the bag once a week. We have a towel and a kitty mat under it. Beemer has 3 of her own navy blue towels that are used and changed often. I bleach them when I was them.

Before I answer this, I just want to say that I heard some funny noise just now and was looking around, only to see my kitty wrapped up in my comforter SNORING SO LOUD! Haha, just had to share that. Anyway....here, at my parents, we keep it in the laundry room. We used to keep it in the basement when we lived in our old house. My sister, who lives in an apartment, keeps it in the coat closet that no one uses. She just leaves the door cracked, and the cats walk in and out. I mean, most of the time when she has company, the coats go on the bed anyway, so it's the best spot for her.

We have a 3 bedroom apt and the third bedroom is a guest room...so we keep it in there....and when we have guests sleeping over we move it into the hall for the night.

Gosh, I dont clean it with bleach and such...I use those liner bags so the plastic doesnt really get dirty. Am i doing something wrong?

we keep our's in the basement, but that's a house, so it's easier....my sister has an apartment and keeps it in the bathroom i think. she actually took in two stray kittens a few months ago and had to keep the both of them in her bathroom for 1-2 months....while they waited to see if they had any diseases...she had to keep them away frm her other cat. the bathroom smelled REALLY bad by the end of that!!!

We live in a Levitt Cape In Levittown. If anyone knows anythng about them they would understand that there is no way to put a litter box in there at all which stinks. Elvira's potty is at the top of the steps. in between the 2 bedrooms.
