Cat Owners...what do you do to help control the cat hair problem....
besides clean all the time? I feel like my whole house is one big ball of fur....you cn actually see it flying in the air. I think I'm going to get a new vacuum with greater suction...mine stinks. Just wondering if anyone had any secrets I didn't know about.

you can get one of those brushes that is supposed to help with the sheeding, i dont know how much it works, but when i brush my cat with it it FILLS up with hair... so i guess it works, but you have to brush him / her often.

You can also try keep your house on the cooler side. The cooler they are the less they shed.

I do all of the above. I bought the 'Shark' vacum cleaner, and it does pick up every bit of hair. I also tidy up during the week with a dustbuster (particularly for the stray bits of kitty litter) and I brush him once a week. But, I still see tumbleweeds rolling by every now and again

If you want to invest in a REALLY good vacuum cleaner - Dyson has a special one specifically designed for pet hairs - it's expensive though, but it works really well - my friend has one and you wouldn't even know she has 2 cats! Here's a link to the webpage, tells more about it.
