i honestly think it's a male thing. i have 3 and 2 are female. it took about a year for them to calm down. my male is 7 months old now and is the spawn of *****. from what i have been told, for some reason they take longer than the females to calm down.
hey isn't like that with us with growing up? the boys just took longer to mature?

do you have my cat??? lol.
when we got him, he was already fixed. however, we have an older cat (she's almost 2), and she calmed down A LOT when she got fixed. My FW said that males are more frisky then female cats. i dont know. but he does all the same things you just listed. he is a pain in my a$$ and i get mad at him like twice a day

i don't think its just a male cat thing, with my moms cats the only male is the epilepsy cat, the others are female

Re: cat question...
My cat is crazy..he rubs his head against your foot..then gets excited and bites you.
Then don't brush your hair in from on him...he will attack with claws out to get the brush from you.

Re: cat question...
OK ... I have 2 cats, could not be more opposite of eachother.
1. Mclovin .... calm sweet ... 2. Neko .. INSANE! He could be sleeping, then he will all of a sudden wake up and just jump and run as fast as he can like a nut. Neko is a bengal, so he is very 'dog like' plays fetch ... and get annoyed when we don;t want to play!

Re: cat question...
My Mom has a 3 month old kitten - and she is psycho. Sweet, but psycho and loves to play. Lets put it this way - the cat came home from the vet after getting spayed and she was still running amok in the house. Then the poor thing was in the vet for a week (just came home last week) for pneumonia - and she could barely breathe and was still playing. Love the thing to death - but she is soooooo hyperactive. And that is so different from my old cat (passed away at the ripe old age of 17)....who was cool, calm and collected from kitten to adult. Go figure. Maybe it's just your cats personality??

Re: cat question...
My cat is the devil, he is just awful, always biting really hard and just destroying everything....my vet says its bc he was hand raised and never had a mom so he didn't learn. Actually, as horrible as it sounds, I am putting him on some medication to see if it helps calm him bc its getting really bad....like he goes to a corner of the wall and just trys to jump up it (theres nothign there) and scratches and yelps at it....totally weird.

Re: cat question...
My cat is the same age and he is like a little person. It is sooo funny. He meows back when you talk to him. He sleeps streched out in a bed under the covers with his head on the pillow and one paw on you. He also loves to spoon!!
He can still get wild at times but has calmed down a lot. Is he or she fixed? that calms them down.

Re: cat question...
Our cat never leaves our sides....it is cute 95% of the time, but sometimes it's a bit much, especially when she almost kills us by being right underneath our feet!!
But I have to say she is the best alarm clock ever, as soon as my alaram goes off she comes into bed with me and exactly keeps me from falling back to sleep
