Does anyone know how to rid the odor of cat spray?!!?!? We don't own a cat - haven't owned one since my last apartment - but the people who lived here before obviously had some! I haven't smelled the odor since we first moved in but now that I've been moving furniture in this one room it has re-surfaced. It's SOOOOO disgusting! I know you can't completely get rid of the smell since it probably has seeped right into the floor-boards under the carpet. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any kind of heavy-duty deodorizer that I can use?? I feel awful as this is our daughter's bedroom.... Thanks!

Re: Cat spray
I think there is a product that you can buy at a pet shop I am not sure of the name. I have never had a male cat so I am not too sure!

Re: Cat spray
As the owner of three cats, I know first hand that cat pee is the hardest smell in the world to remove. I would just suggest that you steamclean the carpet (rent one of the heavy duty ones from the supermarket), let it dry, sprinkle some of the Pet Fresh carpet deodorizer on it, and then vacuum as usual. If that doesn't take the smell out, you'll need to talk to your landlord about replacing the carpet. If it's in that bad of a condition, it should be up to him/her to replace it for you.
Hope that helps!

Re: Cat spray
They sell stuff at the vet called Just For Cats. It is an odor eliminator. It worked for us!! I am not sure if it is sold at the pet store.

Re: Cat spray
I would let baking soda sit on the area for a while it may help.

My mom used Nature's Miracle when one of her cats started spraying. It seems to work really well.

Yes, I did some research on the web and this product kept popping up. It's worth a shot!!! Do you know if she used it on the entire carpet or just in the areas that were sprayed? Since it happened before we moved in, I have no idea exactly where those little ***** sprayed!!
Thanks for the advice ladies!!!

Re: Cat spray
If the cat pee'd underneath the carpet or rug, you may have to replace the carpet and scrub the floor underneath. Do not use any products with ammonia because it will make the smell worse. Good Luck!

She used it on the whole area, as in she used it about a foot around where the spraying was done.
