Catch more with honey than vinegar

Catch more with honey than vinegar

Ok...so I have always tried to live by the belief that things happen for a reason and that God always has a plan for us even if we are not aware of it. With that said, my life is usually pretty crummy in terms of luck. Have NO luck. None. Nada. Zip. If someone on crowded street of double parkers is going to get a ticket, it will always be me. If I am in a group with friends and we are all wearing the same shoes (this happened) only my heel will break.

The FH is no better. BUT.....

Our luck changed! God has finally smiled on us. I can't really give all the details but I can say we were upgraded at no extra cost to LOTS of extra goodies for our reception catering. Many of em, namely ones that would normally have cost us an arm and a leg and bumped us to way out of our budget.

Better hour'derves, FANATSTIC desert extras and main course...

So we are doing a lot of praising the powers that be and I am excited so I just had to share.

My advice for all the brides out there: POLITENESS. Be very polite and as laid back and easy-going as you can be. These people at RH's deal with crazy brides and grooms ALL DAY LONG and they really love it when they meet down-to-earth couples who can, forgive my french, 'shoot-the-****' and not give them a hard time. Worked for us. We got some good gossip AND goodies!!

I am so happy for you.

I totally believe in what you are saying. I am constantly just emailing some vendors to say hi! During holidays I emailed my vendors to wish the a happy new years and happy holidays.

I happen to stop by my reception hall every month or so just to say hi and talk to my coordinator.

I think it is just good to be nice to these people because your wedding is ultimately in their hands.

wow CONGRATS!!!!! so happy for you that is great.

I agree, some brides have bad attitudes, i always try to be extra nice.

And honestly sometimes things will go wrong or they'll forget something or not help a bride out, and itll be funny bc it will be a vendor that is usually very nice to everyone...then the bride will wonder why it happened to her

CONGRATS

I agree--being nice does have its advantages. Since they deal with so many demanding people with attitudes all the time, it's probably refreshing for them to deal with someone who is more considerate.

that's great. i gotta say...i couldn't agree more. DH and i got some great deals and things thrown in for free just because our vendors loved us and loved our personalities....a smile and treating ppl nicely goes a loooong way!

We got waffle station, zeppoli station and the chocolate fountain thrown in-wedding cake (ANY KIND we want and any decoration) was part of the price. Upgraded to 18 oz filet mignon instead of 13 oz prime rib. Lots of extras with pastas and other things too. AND our colored linens are not costing us anything! SO be nice!
