Anyone have any suggestions for caterers in or near Ronkonkoma that do backyard barbecues? I'm looking for a place that will bring a nice grill and the food not only has to be good (duh) but a little fancy. For example: grilled lamb, steak, chicken breast, nice salads (walnut/cranberry/gorgonzola) and sides like a hot pasta dish. Our price range is $20-25 pp. for 60-70 people. We will need 2 staff as well: one for the grill and one to help serve ($100 pp for 4 hours?). We probably want to order a tray or 2 of hot food. Possibly drinks (soda, water) included, but not necessary. Any ideas? Ever go to a party that had this? How was it? What did you think?

Check out Bassett Caterers in Brooklyn. Not sure if they have lamb. But they will drive out there. We use them for almost every party. We are using them for our engagement party in southampton. they are awesome, and have awesome food. They bring everything you will need. including grills/chefs/paperware/utensils (inc in price). they have menu add-ons as well. they also do hot stations and sandwich platters.

We're looking for a close catering place because my FI was hesitant to go with BBQ at all - he thought it wouldn't taste good. So I told him that we would get to try the food before booking.

Just type in a google search...long Island bbq catering and you will get a ton of stuff

Try Adrian and Rockys catering in Queens...they will make you anything you want and they can set up a tent too

We're having a BBQ e=party. We're using Fireside Caterers in East Northport. We went and tried the food and its delicious. They have different packages- all very reasonable.
ETA- they do the set up, cook and serve the food, and clean up too

Try The Happy Hostess in Rockville Centre. They will be catering my beach bbq, you can hire one of their chefs, waitstaff, and even rent a 5 foot que.
I hear the food is really good.

we used famous daves for our backyard bbq eparty and were great. Everyone raved about the food. They're not really upscale in terms of their food, but they are in tour price range. Fm me and ill try to find my invoice! There's one in nesconset and if you call they'll quote you over the phone.

Ohhh you should try Bobbique, in Patchogue. They will cater and they have the BEST bbq food I have EVER had on LI. The owner is a trained chef not a cook and his stuff is AWESOME! The only other place that can compare IMO is Spicys in Riverhead but I am not sure if they cater, though you could check it out. Bobbique has a website just google it.
