Catering hall requiring insurance

Has anyone had a family member or other non-in business florist do their flowers at their wedding?
I just found out yesterday that any vendor we use (including floist) has to be insured for a whole long list of stuff that is over $1 million. I called the fox hollow and was told my MIL (a retired florist who has her heart set on doing my flowers as of a few days ago) can take out a rider on her insurance company against her house??? otherwise she CANNOT do my centerpieces, but can still do my BOK's and butineers.. Did anyone else have anything like this? I don't want to ask her to take out this policy if it is unreasonable..I don't know exactly what it entails.

Do you think it would be better to just spend extra $$ on centerpieces? What is the average price of a centerpiece?

Thanks in advance for any help you have to offer!

usually you just have to sign something saying that the RH won't be responsible you can sitll you no insured vendors

High centerpiece would be $75-300 each. I would just tell the hall you are having a family member do your flowers and find out if they still need the policy.
