Cathedral Veil Tips

Cathedral Veil Tips

Just curious if any recent brides have tips for managing cathedral length veils. I am excited for the pictures and the look, but not so excited for keeping it out of guests during the receiving line, etc. What's the best way to deal with that?

I haven't thought about this... I'll probably give my Maid of Honor the job of keeping it tamed lol

I just saw a company that sells veil weights so it doesn't fly around. I don't remember the website you can try googling it.

I had a cathedral length veil and I actually bustled it for the reception-which I never even knew could be done! My goal was to wear my veil the entire day because how often do you wear a veil. Plus, it is so freaking expensive to just wear it for the ceremony. And, it worked perfectly! I wore it for 12 hours straight!

Wow that's impressive. Did it annoy you at all? Who did the bustling and was it difficult to do?

The seamstress just added a button to the top of the comb and a teeny tiny loop on the veil that was not noticeable at all and then my bridal attendant just looped it around the button and that was it!

I plan on getting a cathedral length veil also. I didn't think it was possible to wear it for the reception b/c I thought it would get in the way. I would love to know more about how it can be bustled!

This exactly! Kleinfeld's said I could double or triple bustle my veil for the reception depending on how long I wanted it!

I agree, they're so expensive, you better believe I'm keeping it on as long as possible!

This is wonderful! I'm doing this pleated veil creation and I am now thinking about how I can bustle it. Thanks fornthenidea!

My friend just held hers over her arm. I'm going to bustle mine. You can take a flower pin and pin it right into the clip on top.

Im going to only wear it for the ceremony and pictures. I have a shorter veil for the reception.

I wore mine for the ceremony, pictures and part of the reception. I changed my dress half way through the reception.
