Catholic brides

If you're getting married in a Catholic Church, do you need to buy a unity candle or do they provide you with one?

Good Question...in addition to that is a unity candle apart of every ceremony? I have not gone over this stuff with my church yet... I suppose I should call them?

You have to provide it....Its actually not a religious part of the ceremony...its really more traditional

THANK YOU! It's not a Catholic thing.... the candle ceremony has recently been condoned by the dioscese, but by no means is it an actual Catholic ceremony.

I think it was born from american popular culture / christian churches in the 70's....

In europe, there is no such thing...

(we're not having a unity candle.....)
