Catholic Brides Having a Full Mass

Catholic Brides Having a Full Mass

I need to start planning for my ceremony....

Any idea how many readings there are for a full wedding mass? How many songs, etc?

Also, where can you find wedding appropriate readings other than reading the entire Bible and hoping to hit upon appropriate ones?

I want something different...not the Corinthians reading....

TIA!

2 to 3 readings.

Old Testament Reading
Responsorial Psalm can be done as a reading
New Testament reading.

I posted my program contents a few months back.

When you go through Pre-Cana you should get a book called Together for Life and that has a slew of readings and that you can choose from. That book also give you the order of things and tells you what needs to be picked.

I think you can get this book off the internet or at a religious shop.

Thanks for the help girls...

I did my pre cana up in MA, so I will have to ask my church in NY for a copy of the Together for Life book!

Usually you have 2 readings and a gospel reading. There is usually one Old Testament and one New Testament reading, the gospel (also New Testament) and you could have someone read the responsorial psalm and prayers of the faithful.

We left out the Old testament reading because we couldn't find one we both liked. The priest was fine with that and then we had our 2nd reader do the prayer of the faithful. The together for Life book also has suggestions for the psalm and the prayers of the faithful too.
