Catholic Brides - Just a ceremony (not full mass) reading????

We are not doing a full mass for our wedding but I would like to include one of my friends in the ceremony to do a reading (not a 'church reading' but a meaniful passage, poem, etc). Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can still do a church reading even tho it's not a full mass...

One of my favorites is

Love is patient and Kind,
Love is not jealous or boastful;
it is not arrogant or rude;
it does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrong
but rejoices in the right.
Love Bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things
Love never ends.

I Cor. 13

Hope it helps..

Yes you can.. DH's uncle read the Hands Passage at our ceremony (only ceremony, not full mass), apart from our 2 readers (one new test, one old test.)..

Great - thank you! That definitely helps clarify things....They told us to bring our readings when we meet with the preist and I was a bit confused.
