Catholic Brides question

I have to get a form notarized for the church - two people have to sign it saying i am who i am and that i've never been married before.

does everyone have to do this?

We have to do it too...I think its just so that they can prove that you have never been married before.

I haven't heard of this. As far as I know, all we have to provide is a new copy of our baptismal certificates.

can the people that sign it be family?

We had to do that too.
Yes, the people that sign can be family and it can be the same 2 people on both forms.

Hmmm, interesting. We've met with our priest a few times already and he never mentioned us getting anything notarized. He asked us if we had ever been married, we said no, he asked for our baptismal records, communion and confirmation records etc., but not a notarized form stating we had never been married.

Maybe he'll ask for it as we get closer to the wedding date???

Also, I'm sure it can be family that signs for you. Unless the form specifically says it can't be family, then I don't see why not.

Yes...We are doing that too. Then when I meet with the priest, I have to hand it in.
