How soon after meeting with the priest did you schedule your pre cana?
Our church's calendar indicates they have programs scheduled into next spring. Should I go ahead and schedule it now?
ETA - We have already met with the priest and set the date, etc.

i heard the sooner the better. the closer is gets the more you are gonna have on your plate anyway. i havent scheduled mine yet but I'm hoping to by Jan. I'm out of state too so I have to find a priest in CT willing to work with us.

I would probably schedule it now.
I had scheduled mine for last month because I wanted to be early and I wanted to avoid possible bad weather in January 07. Well, as it turns out, they scheduled out Pre-Cana at the incorrect location. We ended up going there for NOTHING!!!
Ours is now rescheduled for January. so much for planning.
Yes, schedule it earlier vs later.

well we booked our Church September of 2004 for our March 2006 wedding. The priest told us to wait for the Fall 2005 session because the Spring 2005 will be for all the summer brides.

We did it right away-met with himin July and started Pre-Cana in Sept and now we are done with it

I just got my pre cana info and will be booking as soon as we decide WHICH of the precana courses to take (we'd prefer the one day, but if we can't find that, then we'll do one of the two days).
My pamphlett says that you have to indicate your first choice and your second choice and to register at least 2 months in advance. About 2 weeks after they receive your registration form, they'll let you know which you have been assigned to.
We're going to try to register for February or March to get it done and out of the way.

We met with the priest December 2005 for a January 2007 wedding. We did our pre-cana in August 2006. If you have the time to do it now i woudl just schedule it to get it over with and have one less thing to worry about.

We did pre-cana in March 2006 for our November 2006 wedding. We wanted to have it completed before the real craziness set in with having to do everything.

I complted my pre-cana as soon as I met with the priest...last May to be exact I just fell closer there is a lot more on your plate.

I called to try and do it this fall and they already started but she said there would be plenty of time to do it in the spring.

Our preist told us to go when ever we were ready. but the sooner the better. Were not getting married untill july 2008 and he gave us the entire schedule for 2007. So will probably go in march or april to get it over with

Because we are interfaith and doing it in Queens (don't know how LI is) but there aren't many dates to chose from. They do it like every 3 or 4 months in Queens.

As soon as I got the date from our Pastor, I scheduled our pre cana. I wanted it done and over with. I ended up actually really liking the whole experience.
