Aside from the processional and recessional, what other times do you need to choose songs for? What has everyone chosen for their songs throughout the ceremony?
Thanks!!!!

are you having a mass or just a ceremony? if you're having a mass, you need a communion hymn too

Re: Catholic Ceremony Music
When we light the Unity candle, I am having the church vocalist sing 'The Prayer' by Josh Groban. It is a beautiful song!! Not sure about the other ones.

Re: Catholic Ceremony Music
People are getting you confused between ceremony ONLY and a ceremony WITHIN a Mass.
For a ceremony only you need: Prelude Processional Responsorial Pslam* Gospel Acclamation* Song at Unity candle and/or Presentation to the Blessed Mother (if you're doing one or both of these) Recessional
If you are doing a ceremony within a Mass you need:
Prelude Processional Responsorial Pslam* Gospel Acclamation* Song at Unity candle and/or Presentation to the Blessed Mother (if you're doing one or both of these) Offertory hymn or instrumental music (when the gifts are being presented at the altar) Eucharistic Prayer Mass Parts:* Holy, Holy* Memorial Acclamation* Amen* Lamb of God* Communion Hymn (this is sung as people receive Communion) Recessional
Items marked with an asterisk * are Mass parts and can either be sung or spoken, i think they're much nicer sung and involves in the congregation. the organist and cantor will pick these out for you if you don't know which settings you want. (i.e. there are several musical versions of the Mass Parts).
The hymns can also be done by the cantor or whoever else might be your soloist. I am a cantor at Church, so I know a lot about this, please let me know if you have any quesions.
