Also, do you play a different song when the parents and grandparents walk down the aisle?

A related question - did you just use whoever the church uses for music, or did you hire someone to play and/or sing at the ceremony?
I haven't asked my priest yet, and I am not sure if it is OK to tell them I don't want to use their music or if they would be offended....

Are you having a Mass ?

If you are what music are you using for communion.

My mother is being super insistant on Ave Maria - I am a little scared because she and my Aunt are going to be a water works the whole time! Anyone have some other suggestions?

Stinker.... I am having a mass... we are using Ave Maria for the candle because the church gave us a list of songs for the communion that I had liked better for that. I dont remember the songs right now but I can give them to you when I get home if you are interested.

If you are having a full mass there are also some songs during the mass.

Re: Catholic Ceremony Music Poll...what are you using for:

Prelude music - Air on G String
BP Processional - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
Bride Processional - Trumpet Voluntary
REcessional - Wedding March
Lighting of Unity Candle/Presentation of bouquet to Mary - Ave Maria
Communion - Canon in D

My church provides the organist and a singer. I also hired 2 trumpeters on my own.

I hired janet king, harpist and a soloist for my mass. I also found a great song called How Beautiful. It is a religious song and was perfect for our mass. I thought I would throw the suggestion out there for you all.

I am also having a full mass... we are using Ave Maria also for the candle and for Communion I am using “The Prayer” which is written by Sager & Foster but really performed by Andrea Bochelli.

The church provided us with a list of singers so I chose 2 singers (brother/sister), violinist and a trumpeteer.
