When you plan out your whole mass ceremony/music--do you have to ok by the priest or something first???

Yep. For our Church, we are meeting with the Director of music this Sunday (1 and 1/2 months before wedding) and you choose your music there or he can play you selections if you're not sure. And you choose your readings ahead of time. Generally the church will give you a book of information that has approved readings/ music selections in it. If not, ask your priest if there are any stipulations. Generally for the first reading it's any passage from the old testatment, second reading, any passage from the new and so and so on.

We also met with the music director about a month and a half before our wedding. We had been given a book with suggested readings when we first took the FOCUS test. The music director told us that we don't need to tell tehm the readings we chose until the night of our rehearsal.
