Does anyone know if you can get married in a catholic church without an annulment, if you are married by a deacon and not a priest. I thought you weren't allowed to marry in the church what so ever, but someone told me today that you can if a deacon performs the ceremony... anyone know?

Were you married in the Catholic Church before? If so, I dont think it matters who performed the ceremony, I believe you need an annulment.

Yep, its true... you need to file an annulment. Although it can take a long time... they are changing how the process works... to speed things along.

Re: Catholic Church
If you were married in the Catholic Church before you can not get married at all in another Catholic Church. You defiantely need an annulment and that could take anywhere from 1 year and up. Mine took over 2 years!
