Catholic Church girls

Catholic Church girls

Since FH & I are still toying with the idea of switching to a Catholic church, I'm trying to figure out what the specifics are.

-What was/is the outline and order of the ceremony/Mass?

-Were you allowed to do a Memorial Candle?

-Were you allowed to have an aisle runner?

We were allowed to do a memorial candle and an aisle runner, but it varies from church to church. Same thing with petal tossing and throwing rice outside.

As for the outline, it's different if it's a ceremony only or a full mass. We had a ceremony only and it went like this:

Processional

Greeting

Reading 1 (old testament)

Reading 2 (new testament)

Responsorial Psalm

Gospel

Homily

Blessing of rings

Exchanging of Vows

Recessional

If you have a full mass, you'd also have communion in between the homily and the rings. HTH!

ETA: We didn't do a memorial candle though or a unity candle or anything so I don't know when that would've taken place.

We had the same outline. Your can go to your local parish and ask for the Together For Life Book. They should give it to you for free but if they dont you can purchase it form them or probably an advent strore or book store. It has all of the readings and prayers you can choose from as well as an outline for a ceremony or mass.

We probably could have done a memorial candle. We did have a unity candle.

My church did not allow aisle runer

My outline is pretty similar to jillibabi's. But we are NOT allowed to have an isle runner nor can we have anything thrown at us coming out of the church andddd our FG's cannot throw petal walking down the isle!

Same outline, but we also did flowers to the Virgin Mary and that went after the vows before the recessional.

Aisle runner depends on the church. Mine allowed it.

We had to set up the church at least 6 months before wedding date and our timeline is similar to what was posted.
