This may be a silly question but does the priest or deacon get a tip? I have to pay the recommended donation, pay the organist and tip the alter servers but I wasn't sure the proper way to handle the deacon. Thanks for the help!

we tipped our priest....some people said not to,some said to
so in the end we put money in a envelope and handed it to him before we left the church

I'm pretty sure it's the same for a ceremony only. They still need altar servers even if it's just a ceremony.

Great question...I had no idea about tipping altar boys/girls. I thought u only had to make a donation.
