Catholic Churches

Hey!
This is my first post! I am getting married in Long Island But Live out of town ( Virginia). Can anyone offer suggestions about catholic churches that don't mind non-members. I am a member of a church in VA. We are thinking of having reception at the Atlantis Marine World.
Any thoughts about 'telling' the church a date that I want?!?!
Any help would be great!
