I'm new here, and looking for some information about Catholic Churches on Long Island. I used to live in Seaford, but moved to Raleigh a few years ago for school. However, my entire family is in New York, and so my fiance and I agreed to be married there. I am not a member of any church in New York but I am Catholic (fiance is not), and was wondering if there are any churches that you know of in Nassau County that will agree to do our wedding even though we aren't members there?
I was baptized and confirmed at Maria Regina in Seaford, but I would like to be married in St. Bernard's... any suggestions?

Re: Catholic Churches
I am getting married at St. Christopher's Church in Baldwin. Neither FH or myself are parishoners of the church. They are so easy to work with. I've had nothing but a great experience with them. FH is Methodist and I am catholic and they said that was fine. I think as long as you both are baptized it shouldn't be a problem. FM me if you want their phone number.

Re: Catholic Churches
Neither FH nor I are members of any parish. We are getting married at St. Martin of Tours in Amityville (it's my mom's parish), but I know they will marry non-parishioners.

Re: Catholic Churches
I'm getting married at Holy Name of Mary in Valley Stream. I am a (non-practicing) parishioner there, but FH is not. I was baptized and confirmed there, FH was not. FH is not even Catholic and they aren't giving us any problems at all.
We went through pre-cana in May and there were a few people from out of state who are definitely not parishioners there.

I just emailed them to get some information - thank you so much!

st martin - 631-264-4840 - be patient. They are not the best at returning calls quickly. However, once they do everything runs very smoothly.

Wonderful, thanks so much! I'll call them when it gets closer to December to speak with a priest.

Re: Catholic Churches
I am getting married at St Aidan's in Williston Park and neither FH and I are parishoners there. We met with the priest there and he was very nice and easy to talk to. They didn't question us or give us any problems at all when we said we weren't parishoners there.
