It is a baptismal certificate, you need all your sacrament certificates. I think you need the originals and they have to be dated 6 months before the wedding or sooner, at least that's what my church requires.

I was told by my church that they needed a newly-issued baptismal certificate from the church. I think our priest said within six months of the wedding date - I'm just calling the church and asking for a new one.

Definitely baptismal. Our church said it has to be in at least 6 months prior to the wedding. We sent everything in right after we booked the date.

baptismal certificate, and maybe even confirmation... it depends on how involved the church is getting

.

Yes, my church requires newly issued baptismal, communion and confirmation certificates dated within 6 months of the wedding. I think all you have to do is call the church rectory and ask them to send it to you.

I think you can either go to the church where you received the sacrament, or to the diocese....my mom got mine at the church where I was baptized b/c it's in the next town over--she had problems though b/c it didn't have my communion date on it even though I made my communion there! they gave her a serious run-around, but it worked out now! apparently they didn't transcribe all the communions from my year...good job church!

Our preist said we just need to get him a copy of our original baptismal certificate. no other papaer work. I would call him just to make sure.

oh no if this is true FH is going to have a hard time. He converted to catholicism in the Marine Corps I hope they still have all his records on file because he has all of them but they are 4 yrs old. ughh i don't get what it matters if they are 25 yrs old i mean couldn't you find out i have never been married before even if my baptismal certificate is the original one?!

Well I think a newly printed one should show all the sacraments you have received, where as the original may not have been up-to-date...

Mines didn't either. if you know where he received any of his sacraments, contact that church first & ask them for that certificate. ASk them if the certificate says where he was baptized then go from there.

I had to do that for mine & his!..lol
