on a side note, the Pope headlines all just changed to 'Pope clinging to Life'.

eta: He's gone.

edited again: SORRY! The Pope is very much alive! I got that information from Yahoo news, before it came out that the Vatican did not confirm anything. I can't trust the news!

I am sooo sad :( Personally, I think that there are to many coincidences going on here, Hurricanes, Floods, tsumnamis, Terror Plots, Earthquakes, people dying, war - and now the pope. I do not believe in coincidences, everything happens for a reason. I also believe that yes this is the series of events that leads up to the 'end of days' beginning with 9/11. If this world does not turn around fast there won't be one left to turn around at all!

I don't understand either what the 3rd message of fatima is? Would someone please explain.

BTW, thanks for scaring the **** out of me! I am scared to even bring my baby into this world now.

Re: Catholics...

The third message of the Fatima is the third message that Mary gave to the three little girls of Fatima. She told them that they could tell the world about her first two messages right away but that they had to wait x number of years (sorry I dont remember the exact amount) before telling people what the third message was.
After x number of years she told her bishop who told the pope and for years and years and years the information was not shared with the rest of the world.
Above is the message which is now known as the third message of the fatima.

I totally see what you are saying -- I thought the same thing!

When did they announce the 3rd message!?

eta the Bible etc is sometimes metaphorical....not always a literal translation.

But this is very scary

I thought we were taught to believe in a loving God, not a God that proclaims damnation?

I don't understand....what in the 3rd Fatima proclamation thing is specific to now?

And don't you think it's a little US-centric to think that 9/11 marks the end of the WORLD?

There were many world tragedies before 9/11

I was thinking more along the lines of the tsunami's

'and the foam will rise overturning and sinking everything'

Re: Catholics...

These things are all so hard to interpret. We're in the twenty first century now, soooo? XX has already passed. So many people make their living interpreting revelations and all kinds of predictions. We know it's coming at some point, but when is anybody's guess.

XX is the year 20....MM is the year 2000

ETA, but the XX century is the year 2000...sorry, there seemed to be confusion.

Also regarding bible translations, there are many bible stories told in many ways. For example, in the King James version of the bible, there are 3 different versions of the Infancy Narratives...all of which are Gospels.

Also Nostradamus predicted that the pope that would rule over most of this century would be of Middle Eastern descent, and not a traditional holy man.. I am not sure about the 3rd Fatima

Yeah but God said He wouldn't do that anymore. Or just wouldn't flood us again, I forget which.

Everything us up for interpretation. THat's why I don't take any Christian literature too literally. you can interpret it to say so many different things.

The pope hasn't died yet.....I know he is not doing well/very close to passing but according to all the news he is still alive.

Re: Catholics...

i have 2 takes on this...

First.. i think ALOT of it is really Media induced. similar things happen all the time, and im sure terry schiavo wasnt the 1st person to be on a feeding tube (or similar situation) while family members fought over what was in the 'patients' best interest. and honestly, until the last few weeks when the Media totally blew this story up, i had never heard about it before. And im sure that there have been other 'high profile' personalities that have been on a feeding tube before they died, but it didnt stand out in our minds b/c the media didnt hawk over that one point.

with that said....

i DO believe in the idea that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. and i mean that more in the physical sense than 'what goes around comes around'. You can't bomb a country, have Two HUGE towers collapse and think that there will be NO effects (besides the obvious emotional trama, and lives lost)... how can you have TONS on metal, etc come Crashing down, and think that that wont have a ripple effect in the earth? i look at these natural disasters as a reaction to the physical trauma the earth, itself, has been subjected to. And honestly, im not a tree hugger, but its kind of ignorant for us to think that WE as people are the only ones affected by this, and that it doesnt have more environmental side effects as well

Re: Catholics...

I remember reading about this... the third secret of Fatima was that there would be an assassination attempt on a pope, but that he would survive...

They obviously kept it a secret to avoid having every nutjob try to make an attempt and 'test' the prediction...

After the Pope got shot, he put the bullet into the crown on the statue of Our Lady of Fatima (I'm not sure where this staute is -- if it was his own statue or if it was the statue in the town of Fatima). He credits her with saving his life.

So the secret/prediction has already happened/came true.
