CD Favor

Hi, I am thinking of doing a CD as my wedding favor. Does anyone have suggestions for songs. I don't want it to be a cd full of love songs, I want it to be a 'fun' cd. I want songs like....When I'm 64, Happy Together.....
Help me out, please, I would greatly appreciate it!!!!
Thanks

Re: CD Favor

I think they should be songs on the cd from your past that you & your friends LOVE! I couldn't make a cd without putting at leas one song by Duran Duran or Jump Around by House of Pain.
Here's other good ones:
Come on Eileen
Copacabana
Oh What A Night
Brown Eyed Girl

Re: CD Favor

This is still something Im struggling with since all the songs I really love seem to be about love lost (not exactly appropriate)....but here are what I have so far on my CD:

L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole (our first dance)
All the Way by Sinatra (our second runner up for first dance)
By Your Side by Sade
The Universal by Blur
Someone like You by Van Morrison
The Best is Yet to Come by Tony Bennett

Re: CD Favor

We did a CD as part of our favors, and we got lots of compliments. One person even told me that they had left it in their car for months after the wedding, and finally listened to it, and then couldn't stop for days (which was during the time he told me). So, eventhough it took him a little while to listen to it the first time, it made me feel good that he liked it so much he now couldn't stop listening to it!

We used all of the major songs from the night, and all of these songs were on the Must Play list. We wanted the CD to trigger memories from our wedding when our guests listen to it.

We titled the CD: 'Our Wedding Album'

*Going to the Chapel (Dixie Cups)
*True Companion (Marc Cohen) - 1st Dance
*Everytime I Close by Eyes (Babyface) Groom to Bride Dedication
*I'll Always Love You (Taylor Dayne) Bride to Groom Ded.
*Kiss to Build a Dream On (Louie Armstrong)
*Walk Forever by My Side (The Alarm) - 10yr Anniversary Ded. to Brother/SIL
*Unforgettable (Nat King Cole/Natalie Cole)
*Always & Forever (Heatwave)
*Have I Told You Lately (Van Morrison)-Anniversary Dance Game
*My Girl (The Temptations)-Father/Daughter
*Had to be You (Harry Connick, Jr.)
*More Today Than Yesterday (Spiral Starecase)
*The First, The Last, My Everything (Barry White)
*Gimme Some Lovin` (Spencer Davis Group)-Bride&Groom Intro
*Everybody Needs Somebody (Blues Brothers)
*Top of the World (Van Halen)-cake cutting
*How Sweet it Is (James Taylor)
*Kind and Generous (Natalie Merchant)
*(This Will Be) An Everlasting Love (Natalie Cole)
*At Last (Etta James)-Last Dance

Brands and packaging

I downloaded all my songs, but I'm not sure what brand of CDs to use. Why is it that sometimes the burned CDs don't work on my CD player? I don't want my guests to have this same problem. Is there a way to solve this?

How are you guys packaging your CDs?

Just a thought- My fiance and I are including songs that mean a lot to us throughout our relationship and we're including a song list with a little blurb about each song so the guests know why it's one of our favorites!

For instance, right before we got engaged, She's Got a Way was playing in a docked boat next to us. Whenever we hear this song, we think about that moment.

Re: Brands and packaging

02 Bride...if you are using Rewritable CD's (CD-RW)they sometimes will not play back in a car, but if you use CD-R only (which you can't record over again), they should play, in my experience this has worked for me! BUT, if a song doesn't record on the CD-R or skips or something, you can't record over it. It is frustrating! I use Maxell and they seem to be good.

Good Luck!

Re: Brands and packaging

I had always heard that CDs not recorded in 'real time' are more likely to have trouble.

One suggestion regarding which CDs to use .. try to stick with a brand of CD that doesn't have black type on the face of the CD, because the black type is likely to show through the label, especially if you are going to stick with a label that you leave white with colored type on it. The silver-mirrored lettering on the CDs work best. We did use CD-R Recordable CDs .. I believe Maxell is the one that has the silvery lettering that won't show through .. just definitely stay away from black lettering.

Re: Brands and packaging

I think they have shut down Audio Galaxy b/c I am not able to download anything at all You have to be check to make sure that there are no misses, skips etc, that is one reason we chose to have the cd's burned professionally and did the desgin ourselves.

THis is how we are packaging ours.

Re: Brands and packaging

Shamma, I can still download although I am at work and haven't done it in a few days at home. Make sure your satellite is still downloaded because I had the problem a week ago and that was why I couldn't download. It mysteriously was gone.

BTW, love your CD's, nice idea!

Re: Brands and packaging

Thanks Stacezd I did get some sort of message about having an older version of the satellite I ignored it, so maybe that is what's going on. I will try again tonight. Thanks for the compliment on the cd cases.

These are the designs that my friend came up with to use on those cases to seal them

If its not clear it says Love is a Passionate Dance between 2 Hearts our names and our wedding date. Then below that it says a collection of our favorite songs. Let's see how it looks
