Good question, but maybe not. They are used for personal use & you arent intending on making $$ off of it, so I dont think you could get in trouble for it.

as long as you legally obtained the songs and you aren't selling them, youare still making CDs for PERSONAL USE. i wouldn't sweat it. they sell the products for you to do just this...what do they think you're doing with it?

my new thing is to buy a CD and make a copy to use in the car since they get ruined so quickly from bumps and not getting put back in the case...i'm not trying to sell it or return the original...i'm backing up things.

some peole will say anything to make you a little paranoid, too.

The likleyhood that you'll get arrested for it is slim of course.

You may have purchased those songs legally but you're redistributing them to other people who haven't purchased them legally. The argument that the record companies make is that any song, album or movie that was not purchased from an authorized seller is illegally obtained. Whether they get it from downloading from a website or from someone else copying it for them, it's illegal.

It's silly to think that someone would be fined for redistributing a wedding mixed CD. Whether anyone agrees with it or things it's crazy, it is still illegal and I'm only answering your question, not sermonizing here.

It's kind of like hot-linking to pictures you find from other websites. It's copy infringement, every time it's done unless the original website specifically allows it. It's so commonplace and there is nothing you can really do to stop it. But it's still illegal. *shrug*
