I am going nuts trying to do my CD's. Whenever I go through the whole process...and create the cd...it will only play in the computer...not on any other CD player..not my car, stereo, headset, nothing......any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong??

Re: CD's as Favors
The only things I can think of is -- are you recording on a CD that's re-recordable? I know you can only use CD-R for music - the re-recordable CDs work for data.
I'm so not a tech whiz...

Re: CD's as Favors
Depending on what CD's you use they won't play in all CD players. I am doing CD favors as well, I have not picked what CD I am going to use, but I will probably go with TDK, Memorex or Fuji. These seem to work on all CD players when I burn regular CDs for fun. Make sure you are using CD-R's for audio and not CD-RW's Hope this helps

Re: CD's as Favors
Oct Bride is right, CD-R's are the ones you want, not the CD-RW. CD-RW does not play on all CD players. If that is not the problem, another thing to check is if you are 'closing the CD' after burning it? Let us know if this works. Have fun! We did CD's for our March 2001 wedding and they were a HUGE hit and quite inexpensive.

Re: CD's as Favors
I know my songs have to be MP3's when I burn them onto a CD. Did you try leaving them as MP3's and not converting them to wav files?

Re: CD's as Favors
I believe you need a special program (should have come with the CD Burner) to conver the files to cdi files or something like that. I don't think CD Players can read MP3 or Wav files.

Re: CD's as Favors
Are you giving the CDs to every guest or one for each couple?

Re: CD's as Favors (Shamma96)
Shamma96- I remember a few weeks ago you showed us your CD 'Packaging' It was absolutely beautiful I just have a quick question, where you put the CD, is there room for a plastic cover. What I want to do is put the CD in a plastic sleeve and then in the CD packaging you did. Do you think this will work. I'm sorry to bother you with this but I can't order a sample

Re: CD's as Favors (Shamma96)
Nevert a bother to help a fellow bride. The fit is very tight. If you are worried about protection it will be fine. There is no need to add a plastic covering at all. If you are going with the cases from Bliss it will not work.

Re: CD's as Favors (Shamma96)
I always have to convert my mp3's to wavs in order for them to play in all cd players. Only the newer cd players recognize mp3 formats.
If you are labeling the cd's, you may want to look into getting cd's that have a white face because sometimes the writing on the cd's shows through the labels. You can get those at techdepot.com. They may not know what you are talking about at first, but if you are insistent that they carry them, they'll find them.
We just bought a cd duplicator at my office and it is great. It is a standalone unit that you just plug in, put the master cd in the top drive and put the blank cd in the bottom drive and hit a button. It burns our cd's in under one minute (the write speed is 24X). It only cost about $250. If you have the money, it may be worth looking into because it is so much easier than doing it on the computer. when you are done, you can always sell it on ebay. we got ours from ecost.com.
Sorry so long, but we just put our catalog on cd at work and I know way too much about this stuff these days.

CD'S are a great idea. I used them at my wedding and everyone loved them. I used Verbatim cds. They worked but not on old cd players.

Re: CD's as Favors
For everyone having CD's as favors, what type of packaging are you using, I did see the sleeve on RegalRibbons, they are vrey nice, just wanted to get other ideas, any other suggestions? Thanks!
I'm ordering the ones from regal ribbons and then tying a bow that matches the color of the bridesmaid dresses. I needed some more color for my tables!
