Celebration Studios Photography

Anyone hear anything good/bad about celebration studious photography? They're actually located in New Jersey, but a friend of mine used them at her wedding and I really liked her pictures. Just wondering if anyone hear has any further info on them!

Thanks!

Re: Celebration Studios Photography

Hola! My first post since getting married. I saw this question & thought I'd reply w/ my experience.

I LOVED their ads - they all caught my eye, which said a lot, so I called them and met w/ a rep. After viewing the 4 photog.'s books that were free the date of my wedding, I needled it down to 2 - the one who shot all the ads and another guy whose work seemed good. When we scheduled a night to meet the 2 photogs (and this may've been a 2nd scheduling...i.e., we may've arranged one night to meet and they cancelled for whatever reason, but I don't recall for sure), we met w/ the one photog. whose work was in the ads and he yapped and yapped. He didn't let us get a word in edgewise. When he finally asked us, 'What do YOU guys want?' he took a breath and kept on talking. When I ended that convo. (no one came in to finish it and I knew that the other photog. must be waiting), the rep. came in and thanked us saying that the other photog. wasn't able to make it in that night!! We left w/ a bad taste in our mouths. However, if you don't mind a very chatty photog. who may not care to know what you want - or who didn't get a chance to really know about us - but go based on his work, you'll prob. get good results, but you also want a good rapport w/ your photog. You'll be w/ that person all day and your feelings will come out in the photos. We LOVED our photog., Julio, from Great Neck Photography. Lucy Marzocchi is the rep. there and she's very thorough and caring. (516) 466-8600. 124 Middle Neck Road/Great Neck, NY 11021-1245.

By the way, we met w/ our Celebration rep. and photog. in NYC. Have they closed that one down? I know they said their larger space is in NJ. Here's info. on where we went and w/ whom we met:

I met with them in NJ and thought they were very nice. I didn't love their albums though but that is just personal preferance. I know someone who used them and was very happy.

I haven't see my proofs yet but we used Rita and James out of the Manhattan office. They wer both really nice and easy to work with. Rita was the photographer we chose and she chose James to come with her that day as our second photographer. I thought they were very unobtrusive but I could see them getting around the crowd that night. We saw the albums of a few photographers at our meeting and Rita was actually very nice and wouldn't tell us which one was hers so that we wouldn't feel pressured. We ended up choosing hers anyway. I thought her work was gorgeous.
The prices were also very good. We ended up getting a couple of discounts becasue of the date and making the payments early. I would recommend at least meeting with them. I'll try and post some proofs when I get them.

By the way....I'm so jealous!!! I would have loved to have our wedding at the Tribeca Rooftop..
