FH & I hate being the center of attention. i never realized how much he hated it until last night when i was asking him what song he wanted to enter the room to.
so we decided that a few minutes before the CH ends, him & I are going to go into the room & wait as our guests enter. then have the band introduce us as the new Mr. & Mrs. then start our first dance.
something different but its something that fits us.

Jerry and i really dont like being the center of attention either. When we start our first dance we are only going to dance by ourselves for like the 1st min of the song and then ask the guests to come and join us.

I have to be honest, neither my DH or I like to be the center of attention either and I was asking him, if we should do the same as you. He decided against it and really wanted to have our parents and the bridal party enter as well. Let me tell you, I absolutely loved every mintue of it and felt like for our first dance, me and my DH were the only ones in the room. I have to say that I did enjoy the attention after all, it is my party.

That is cute Fh does not like being center attentionI dont mind, I am the worse dancer and that has me nervouse I amreally bad and dont like the idea of everyone watching us after 1 min the dj had to make the BP dance IT is goingto a very long minute

LOL, I think it's a great idea! I'd do the same (I don't like being the center of attention either) but FH likes it so he wouldn't go for this at all!

That is a cute Idea I love being center of attention probably because Im the youngest of 4 and always had to strive for atterntion lol.....My FH hates it he is so nervous about people looking at him the day of the wedding lol.

alright 'm gonna be the downer here and say I am not crazy about it. I'm sorry....
I just think people trickle into the reception room on their own. I could just see the first 10 people coming right up to you as if it were another recieveing line. Then other people who didn't get the chance to talk to you before your first dance might be annoyed. Plus how would the band or DJ get all those people waiting to hug you and give you a kiss take their seats without it being very hectic.
I think if you were announced in to something soft and loving (not fist pumping music) yes people wil be looking at you but it's not like all the hype ya know. They would just think what a beautiful entrace for a beautiful couple. You can walk in casually and have your first dance as hubby and wife.

I just think people trickle into the reception room on their own. I could just see the first 10 people coming right up to you as if it were another recieveing line. Then other people who didn't get the chance to talk to you before your first dance might be annoyed. yes!! absolutely! no one really went running up to them and stuff... it went well!
edit.... we found out before they were not introducing anyone, but the of the people to who not know, now one seemed surprised or said anything about them not doing it. they were just there!
