We are having about 300 guest if not a litte more which means about 30 centerpieces. I'm concerned w/the price of flowers - does anyone have any centerpiece alternatives that can save me some money besides flowers?

Well FH, and I aren't haveing that many guest, but we're not using flowers b/c of cost. we're going for the more candle look. The first is what we're actually doing, but the others are just ideas
Also, some halls will put flowers on the table either throw them in the price or for much less than the florist - that is what we did, we got 6 roses per table, and it looked pretty HTH!

I feel the same way, we are having a large wedding as well and I was looking for different ideas for centerpieces too.
I have found that there are a lot of options for the fall and winter that are beautiful!
Michaels is a good place to get a lot of ideas as well.

Your centerpiece is beautiful. Will a florist set that up or your reception place?
Thanks!

Thanks for all the pics and advice - I think we'll be booking our hall on Sunday so I'll check w/them to see if they offer any flowers. Michael's is a great idea too, because I'm a little crafty so I could totally make something myself.
BTW, I've only been on LIW for a mth...but I love it!

No I actually went to Walmart this weekend, I found the same Vase, actually its more like a bowl. I also brought two pillar candles, and silk rose petals to see how it would work out. And it looked just the same. I also found a small vase, or cup like bowl (it looks like the third pic) from AJ Wright that I will also use with tea candles

This is what we're doing. The CP's are different and can actually be made by us. Since our wedding isn't really summer or fall it's kind of a happy medium and matches the inside of the reception room great.

Re: Centerpiece Alternatives
I checked out Lillian Vernon's website and they have a potted harvest arrangement which is $12.97 for six. I was thinking of three on a table with candles in the middle. What do you think of that?
I would have to order one set to make sure they don't look cheap first.
