Centerpiece decision-HELP ME

ok i need help
* please note in the poll it is save $ for my favors! I cant type! sorry

I really want a beachy kinda wedding...we are on a budget...

the florist we like can do our stuff for 2K
however the centerpieces are a low oval in a rectangular tray u do not see. it will have white roses, hydragea (blue) and orchids

I like the idea of the flowers in a conch shell
but the conch shells will cost us 400 for us to buy...the florist doesnt supply it
pic of the idea at the very end

My other option which I like too is
to have the centerpiece as quoted and buy white starfish about 3-4 inches big and have the florist incorporate that into the arangement
the cost for that is 98 bucks

What would you do?
Screw it pay 400 extra
or add a touch of beachyness with starfish?
Help me please!

this is the idea of the oval like low flowers but with the flowers i listed above but i want to incorporate some white starfish into it. And scatter some seashells (mini) and beach glass around the centerpiece

OOOOOOR

I voted for the starfish idea. You honestly can't really see that the flowers are in the conche shells, and it's worth the $400. I know you have it set in your heart, but this is honestly a detail that many guests will oversee and you can substitute the theme with the starfish, and I think they'll bring more attention anyway!

Good Luck in your decision!

Thats the CP I chose from NFW. Then I told her what flowers and what colors. I think it would look so pretty with little starfish incorporated into it with little sparklies or something.

I like the first one with the starfish. I went to a wedding this summer and she did a beach theme. The centerpeice was very similar to the first pic and she had a sandcastle in the middle. I don't have a pic on this computer but I can post it later when I get home if you like!

i'm totally different from everyone else!!!!

I absolutely love the conch shell.

Are you saying that the low CP with starfish would cost 98 bucks? IMO, that's too much.

But to be honest, it's so different with the conch shell that i'm so into it.

no our pakage is 2K with flowers
i have to buy all the starfish myself it is 98 total to add starfish all together not each

if i do a conch shell is is my 2K package plus an extra 400 to get the conch shells

i think i am opting for the starfish just because we need to start cutting corners..i just wasnt sure if this was where i wanted to cut the corner

Personally, I would just do the flowers and the starfish.

you should try looking online to find the shells. I'm sure you can find a better deal than $400! I would do a mix of both ideas. For family and the bridal party tables we are using the large pumkin centerpieces, and for the other tables of regular guest we are using much more affordable ones. Also the big centerpieces are also going to be use for the ceremony. this has saved me lots of $$$!

it is hard to get them cheaper b/c of the size and the right opening. I think it will be too much of a pain in the a$$ I was going to mix both but you dont get as much flowers with the conch shell idea.

Arrrgh I will figure this out I hope

I love allllllllllllllllll the opinions..thanks sooo much

Re: Centerpiece decision-HELP ME

The disadvantage I see w/the shell is 'What are you going to do with all of them afterwards?'

When using a florist, most of the times they let the folks tak it home if it's a low CP, but otherwise they come back and take their pedestals, allowing the guests to take the flowers ont heir own.

You're paying for them, and it would be a huge disappointment, spending $400 on something you're either going to have excess of after the event laying around the house...or people will just throw them away (I'd use it somewhere in the house...MAYBE)

For $400 that can go towards other elements of the wedding - chocolate fountain, upgrading a HM package, your dress, etc....I'd go w/the cheaper....

yea that is what i was thinking..either way we are announcing to take a centerpiece or we will do the passing the napkin game..i know that is cheesy but i liked doing it at another wedding

I defniitely don't think the conch shells are worth it in my opinion. I'd do the starfish. I love the cp's though. May I ask how much they are costing you each?
