Centerpiece Help, please

besides flower centerpieces, anyone have any other suggestions that a florist can do? i wont have time to do DIY CP, i have 30 tables... that need CP and although i loveee flowers.... my wedding budget is getting way out of hand... im splurging on the honeymoon, video/photography, dress, and rings ... and we have largee families = 300 guets ....

i mean is there anything else a FLORIST can put on my table to make the room look nice

im stuck on tall CP but that adds up to way to much money... for flowers..sorry i know it makes the room look great and all...but for ONE DAY im not about to spend like 3,000...$ esp after all is said and done ppl rave about the food, music...10 years from now no one will still talk about my centerpieces i feel... if i could i would get them..but im trying to cut back on some things..

so any help what else i can do?? thankss...

Maybe you can try working with your florist and they can help you come up with something within your budget? As of now to save money we might be doing alternate high/low centerpieces...maybe thats something you can do? What about candle centerpieces?

I've seen very pretty CPs with a pretty bowl filled with water and floating candles with scattered petals around it.

There's a lot more to see click here

I feel the same way as you! Here is what I am doing.

I ordered votives on ebay (150 for $75 with candles) I added an acid based celtic knot onto each one ($20 for acid and brushes)

Then I went to IKEA and bought wide candel bowls ($3.99 each at 2 per table). I bought Medium height candles for each (haven't found them yet).

My florist is going to put a votive in front of each persons table setting. Every other votive will hold a single red rose cut to sit in the opening of the votive. Every other will be a lit candle.

The florist is also going to fill the IKEA bowls with red rose petals to go around the white candles and sprinkle red and white rose petals on the table. (my tables are oval 14 person tables).

Then I bought victorian frames to hold the table names/pictures.

Ok so my florist with all the rose petals, about 200 individual roses, 8 bouts, 3 boo-ks, my boo-k and all of the cocktail tables (bubble vases with single floating open roses). Total cost $1000 plus money I spent: $250.

Let me know if you want more info!

Here are a few nice ideas I pulled off of Centerpieces!

I would suggest of course using candles- try a cluster of different size pillar candles on top of mirrored glass. Place glass stones or 'fake ice' around the candles with petals. The effect of the pillar candles will look like fireflys, very warm and inviting. People will be stunned by the centerpieces and you've minimized your cost by eliminating stems.

I'll post more pics for you! Good Luck!

I've been pricing out low flower centerpieces and I think you could get them for $50 each from a florist. I think this one that someone posted is beautiful, especially for a summer wedding and I can't imagine it costing that much. Going the candle route would also save you more money and if you picked up the supplies and gave them to your florist they would probably set it up on the tables for you. Good luck

i'm not sure which pic you were referring to but if it was the one i re-posted you can get the glass hurricane candle holders at Michaels or ACMoore (they always have 50% off coupons) and then you just need a few roses to throw in.

Re: Centerpiece Help, please

I had a fall theme wedding so we did hurricane vases with candles and little pumpkins around them. We also had scattered leaves and votives surrounding the vases. I brought all the materials to the RH with a picture and they assembled them on my wedding day. I got all the supplies from ACMoore and they cost me about $15 each.

Maybe you can do just candles.

Do you have a florist? I was in the same boat as you with the flowers everyone I went to was so expensive for high cp's. I was set on them also. We also have a 300 person guest list.

I had a appt with Burtons and it was $95.00 for a high cp with any kind of flower I want and any style I want. Needless to say I booked wtih them. I will bring them pictures of what I want and have them duplicate it.

You should give them a call.

Re: Centerpiece Help, please

my low CPs were only $50 each. votives and petals on the table were free. you can get something for every budget. you just have to look. i was very happy with mine, and was glad i didn't spend $100 for high CPs, which is what i originally wanted
