centerpiece question???

centerpiece question???

When you go to a wedding, do you notice the difference between high and low centerpieces. I really want high centerpieces but, they are just so expensive.

Do you think the room looks better with high vs. low?

I think it depends on the room. Really Its the bride and grooms personal choice. I never walk into a wedding with low centerpieces and go OMG they must be on a budget. Honestly some of the low cp's I have seen and love are not even cheaper then the high cps the couple just prefers the low look.
I think there are a TUN of gorgeous low centerpieces out there.

Ditto, I feel the same way. It all depends on the arrangement and the room. Both can be beautiful.

I think that it depends on the room. I have always preferred the look of low center pieces. So that's what I did no my wedding day. They were beautiful. I doubt that anyone thought that I 'cheaped out' on them. (Which I didn't) But it also depends on how good the arrangement is. If not done well, even high arrangements can look inexpensive.

I agree and I personally like the lower ones, IMO the high ones can make the room look a little too busy.

I wanted High CP's and almost settled for Low CP's, until I found my florist, who's giving me High CP's for the price of Low Ones....Don't hesitate on what you want b/c of price! There's always a vendor out there that will give you what you want, for how much you want to spend.

national Floral - a vendor on here

I never thought anything of it until I had to start picking centerpieces for myself. I definately went with low only because of price, but they are BEAUTIFUL. I love them and most of my family kept telling me not to get high. They dont like how sometimes it blocks the view of conversation and the room etc..

Im sure it will be beautiful with whatever you choose :)

I like both, high and low. I think I'm going with High because my venue is mostly white and neutral coloring (In the ballroom) I want vibrant colors to bring out the room.

I think it all depends on the room and look of the CP. You can have a gorgeous High CP that is all wrong for the room and vice versa. You just have to find something you like that goes well with the room.

Personally I dont't like the high centerpieces. I want people to see the people across from them and around.

Re: centerpiece question???

we got married at the thatched cottage where an entire wall is all windows, and it being a daytime wedding, we wanted centerpieces that would not be very obtrusive. we also have been to weddings with high centerpieces and personally, i found it hard to talk to people from across the table with the vase and flowers in between. so we went with low centerpieces. it was also a summertime wedding, so we just felt that low would go.

I am choosing LOW centerpieces simply because I like them better. We can afford high ones and my mother would prefer them but thats NOT the feeling or look that I want at my wedding.

I prefer high centerpieces, but I think that it really depends on the room.

I like lowers ones because it is easier to talk to people acorss the table. Also, I think the higher ones (depending on the room) can make the room looks too busy. It depends on your room. If it needs a lot of decorating then maybe the higher ones are the way to go, but I prefer the lower ones

From the beginning I knew I wanted to do candles not flowers, so we basically concentrated on low arrangements. I think it all depends on what you want and like and how the room looks. I really don't think people will see the low CPs and think you didn't want to spend the money on high ones.

I completely agree! We're going with low centerpieces for a couple of reasons...one, it goes much better with our room. The room is small and tall centerpieces will be overwhelming...plus #two...both FH and I don't care for the tall CP look...our tastes..but we love to look at others...they're so beautiful just not us!

Re: centerpiece question???

I'm looking to possibly have my wedding at the Hamlet as well and I think either low or high centerpieces would look great in that room. I also think if you like candles they would be a great addition to that room.

However if you really like high centerpieces then you can probably find a florist that will work with you a bit on the price - don't compromise.

Thank you all for your postings...I thought it was easier to see with the high centerpieces but based on your feedback I may go with low as well
