Centerpiece question....

Do the guests get to take home the centerpieces?

How many of you girls spoke with a florist with no concept of what you wanted when it came to flowers? Or did you all have some idea?

Re: Centerpiece question....

Usually one guest from each table takes home a centerpiece. BUT they do not take home rented pieces such as the large, tall centerpiece holders. Usually they just remove the flowers from the top.

Look in photos, web sites, ask around to get ideas. My florist has a huge book of photos. I knew what I wanted, sorta, he is helping me to refine the idea. I will see a sample before the wedding.

Re: Centerpiece question....

I had a general idea of what I wanted -- as far as colors and general concept. The florist (Burtons) pushed back with some of their thoughts and let me look through photographs of their prior work to get an idea of what they could offer.

My advice would be to have a rough outline of what you do/don't want:

- high or low centerpieces

- flowers in shades of white/off-white or pastel or reds or browns...

- clutch or cascade bouquet

- one type of flower or mixed bouquets

If you can narrow yourself down at least a little, it'll help the florist help you / understand what you want. Even so, you shouldn't be completely close-minded to ideas...
