Someone just brought up a good point and now I am wondering....
Do you keep your centerpieces or do they go back to the florist? The glass vases or tree pieces that I'll have....I dont know if they are mine to keep or if they are returned or sold back to the florist....
Anyone know??

Re: Centerpiece Question...
I am having high centerpieces (in vases) and my florist said we can keep them. My florist said that if we had the high centerpieces with a stand (not vase), the stand would have to be returned.

They take my vases back and when we asked about the tree they said the whole thing comes back

I think it depends on what you come to with your florist. I´ve heard of keeping and I´ve heard of being given back.
In my case I´m doing cylinder vases with candles. The quotes I got where only for borrowing them. I would have to give them back!! And they were A LOT more than what I´m paying DIYing them! That´s actually what made me decide to DIY

Hmmm....what happens when you have Aunt's that are 'known' for fighting over centerpieces at every wedding they go to? Do you have to make some sort of announcement to not take the centerpieces???? lol

Re: Centerpiece Question...
we have metal bases for our cp's so they will be going back to the florist; but the guests will be able to take the flowers.
typically, the top of the cp can be detached and the florist picks up the vase after the event.

Re: Centerpiece Question...
I went to FBB and Pedestals and they both said that the vase and/or stand must be returned. They said that if a guest or two took them home, they wouldn't charge us, but if it was more than that, they would charge us for the vase.

Re: Centerpiece Question...
i have low centerpieces and Pedastals said the guests can take them home.
i think low vs high centerpieces are treated differently ... most (if not all) places will let you keep low ones, i think.

Re: Centerpiece Question...
It depends on the cp. If it's something like a tree then no, your guests don't take them home, they go back to the florist.
If it's a cp that is on a stand with a seperate top piece that can be removed from the stand then typically yes, they can be taken home.
I'm not sure about lower cp's.

Re: Centerpiece Question...
I'm having low CP's and my florist said people can take them. My friend had high cp's on a stand, but the flowers themselves were in a plastic pot thing so people just took them out and were able to take them home. If it is not possible for your guests to take the CP's I would inform the people at teh RH to keep an eye out for people walking out with them. If you know someone who's notoriuous for taking the CP's (like half my family, lol) maybe at some point even before the wedding tell them yours can't be taken home.

Re: Centerpiece Question...
It depends on your florist and the types of CP's you get. You have to discuss this specifically with your florist.
If you are trying to get an overall idea of how many florists take them back versus letting you keep them.... then for me... we had to give everything back.
Edit to add that we used high candleabra's that were silver with crystals for high CP and a steel rod unit thing for the low/still high CP's. we also had a large crystal tree in the foyer... those types they generally want back. i think glass vases you are more likely to be able to keep.

Re: Centerpiece Question...
it depends on what you are getting, some tall center piece you just rent the container the flowers are in.
