On some posts that I have been reading, it says that florists will make a sample centerpiece free of charge and then (based on the sample) you can decide whether to book with them or not. However, I met with a few florists last week and none of them offered to make me a sample w/out leaving a deposit first. Do I ask them to make me a sample when I meet with the florist? and then if i like it give them a deposit?? How does it work? I am new at this and a little confused???? I would appreciate any clarification.

I checked out two florists before deciding. Both florists made me a sample (without any deposit) before I made my decision. You should definitely look at places that will do this for you, it helps you to decide on what persons work you like best before you put money down.

Most florists I know only make clients centerpiece samples, not brides just looking at which florist to chose.

Definitely look into it, I'm sure there are others that will do this. I went to florists in Westchester area, maybe it just something common they do up here.
