I originally wanted to have floral centerpeices for my engagement party but they are way to expensive. Can you please help me with some new ideas?

My SIL used silver julep cups with a couple of fake red roses and they looked BEAUTIFUL, I mean really simply elegant. PLus they cost next to nothing

Ours for our wedding were DIY...really cheap. With flowers, candles and glassware each one was about 20 bucks. I took a cue from a friend who lives out west who said their weddings are never very extravagent-seems like an east coast thing.
